I'm no specialist, but an " injector sticking which clears when the car's warm" does not make sense to me. ![]() Which leads us to the necessity of having the codes read first, if you haven't done so already. and those causes are either fully or partially covered by Volvo. Verify that it's not caused by the EGR valve or by the Throttle Body Housing! those are far more common causes and are more likely to cause a tick-over problem that resolves when the engine is warm, than a faulty injector, especially the TBH. Unless this fault was discovered by diagnostics, and you have error codes logged specifying this, then i wouldn't just yet accuse the injectors for a lumpy tick-over. But if it does go wrong, then that is caused mainly by poor diesel fuel quality, and it's fixed by ultrasonic cleaning, sometimes re-stacking of the plates is also performed.Īny diesel specialist /even from Bosch/ should be able to carry out the mentioned tests and repairs on a Siemens' injector for a fraction of the stealer's price. Not much can go wrong with the mechanical part of the Piezo injector. Labour £204.45 (to remove all 4 and refit) I've also been told that it's not covered by warranty or any of their "goodwill " policies (despite their 'comprehensive' 100+ point pre sale check not picking it up before they sold it to me) so in a nutshell I am looking at a bill of over £500 to identify the fault one and change it for new.
